Two years age difference is a good minimum. I tell owners to space 'em like babies, and I tell Irish owners that this means two years, not eleven months ...<br /><br />A friend once told me that she spaced dogs 5 years apart, to avoid having the health issues of two elderly dogs at once, and also the heartbreak of losing multiple dogs close together.
